Island People has been quietly selling out sections! My friend registered in Quasar over the weekend but it seems like she and her group were not the only ones who have only just decided to secure a costume. Taking a look at Island People's website these are the sold out sections and section options :

Wow, I'm really impressed to see that with 5 weeks to go so many sections are sold out. Looks like Carnival is alive and healthy to me.
This is what I love about Trinidad carnival, if you want to play mas you can because there are so many different band options to choose from. Something for everyone...

Spice Band is not listed? The Spice MAS is really nice in my opinion. Glad the last min people still have options local and away.
Spice Band is not listed because as far as it is shown on their website all their sections are still open. None is listed as sold out.
Not a Spice fan but we can't count them out yet. Naturally Saucy will go with what the websites state & I know of at least 2 sold-out sections in Legacy, based on mas camp visits. It just says plenty about which bands update their sites more regular than others.
Ravi Spice mas is BEAUTIFUL...but last year's mas was too and the news on customer service, clique-iness, and actual pictures of at least one of the costumes being farrrr less than what was shown on their site for people to buy...it adds up.
I loved their Diamond Jubilee but it's my first time and I can't afford to spend money with someone who has BAD reviews by the dozens...even though I know one guy who played with them and had no problem...but he is one guy, versus many females (and is the females care more bout costume) who had horrible experiences. I couldn't risk it not for that type of money! So we'll see how this year goes for them but yes they should look great on the road!
