Spice Carnival Band is ready to Dance for Carnival 2013!

first Band Launch invite of the season - Spice!

Spice Carnival will be launching its 2013 Carnival presentation “Let’s Dance” on Saturday 14th July, 2012 at Pier 1 in Chagaramas.

Spice Carnival is quickly becoming synonymous with the unofficial launch of Carnival as for a third year in a row this band will be the first large Carnival band to do a complete showing of its offering for the upcoming Carnival season.  Spice will open the band launching season this year at the spacious Pier I venue with a true Trinidad and Tobago Carnival style “cooler fete”.

The band which will also be celebrating its fifth anniversary this year has truly made its make on the Carnival landscape of Trinidad and Tobago with many accolades in the last five years, including most colourful band and third in the large band competition in Downtown Port of Spain. Spice Carnival also copped the coveted King of Carnival title with its Curtis Eustace presentation “Mandingo” in 2010.

Spice Band Leader, Anya Elias explained that for her and the hardworking Spice Team, Carnival is a year-round event. “Straight out of Carnival 2012 we started putting together the already pre-determined elements of our next year’s presentation. We usually pick a theme for the next season long before this season is finished, so as soon as Carnival is over we hit the ground running again”,  Elias said. The team has already decided on a tentative theme for Carnival 2014.

The Carnival 2k13 theme, “Let’s Dance” will represent some of the well-known as well as exotic dances from around the world. Dancing in most cultures represents celebration and fun and that’s exactly what Spice intends to bring to its masqueraders for 2013, especially as the band celebrates five years in the Carnival Business.
