The Dream Team Carnival Committee will officially launch its Carnival 2007 presentation—Rhythm Nation—on September 16 at the Trinidad Country Club, Maraval.
Formed out of the now dissolved Poison, this new band brings some of the more successful producers of its predecessor together with some new exciting faces from other bands both in T&T and abroad. Local producers include Rick Cooper, Niki Luke, Vindra Sooklal, Adam Mckell, Wendell Newallo, Sky Entertainment, South Side Events and Paul Singh.
Canadian Louis Saldenah, one of the most successful bandleaders for Caribana, has joined ranks with the Dream Team, together with Earl Beckles and Monica Carrington, who both produce successful bands for Labour Day Carnival in New York. All this is in keeping with the Dream Team’s mission of “Taking Carnival to the World.”
Rhythm Nation focuses on the complex diversity of our culture as it relates to song, music and dance. Sections with names like: Eco Rhythms, Chutney Bacchanal and Samba Fever will be heating up the streets of Port-of-Spain come C2K7.
The band will host a total of 15 sections and will be catering for 2,500 masqueraders. Bandleader Paul Singh goes on record as saying that although the presentation has not yet been officially launched, approximately 30 per cent of the band is already sold out from the existing database of its producers. He further advises all masqueraders interested in playing with this new band to contact the administrative crew at 756-2449, 722-7319, 684-3693, or 753-0286 to secure their costumes early as the band will not be going over the stipulated number of 2,500.
For the launch, gates open at 9 pm and costume show time is 11.30 pm. Music will be supplied by Imij &Co, Associate Degree, Hurricane George, Syndicate, Ezel & John Boy and new soca band Kaotik.

See the part highligthed in red, 30% of the band is already SOLD OUT according to the bandleader and the band has not even launched as yet. And when rumors circulate that both TRIBE and Island People have pre-registered masquerders you hear alot of talk about how it is not fair.
The reality is that this happens with all bands, common sense will tell you that section leaders will have loyal customers, family and friends who want to play in their section and they will be allowed to pre-register certain people. Each band I think, has a stipulated amount of people they can pre-register least the entire section is sold out before registration opens, so if the section has 250 people, 5o of that might go to the section leader for pre-registration. I know if my sister or cousin was bringing a section in a band I was not waiting like everyone else to register and that is one of the perks of paying "band fees" so I am glad to see a bandleader openly state that it happens.

Mornin Saucy !!!! i agree with you gyul. the rest of us might feel a how beacuse ppl gettin to pre-register, but if we were in those shoes we wouldn't have a problem. If i had the opportunity to pre-register and avoid the mad rush and ensure i get what i want i would do it too.......

aye saucydiva you played with tribe 2k6 and 2k5 right ? what i want to know is what time they does lock off on mon and tue because i was a poison girl and when it was time to come home we leave them they did not leave us because for me it in over till the fat lady sings!!!!! i find they should do like IP and throw one big after party on carnival tue i will app it espically for my $2000 + give meh the 411 nah.
thank God for pre-registration LOL
Keisha in 2k5 TRIBE was crossing stage all 10PM and ting, remember Poison blocked them on Charlotte Street and so it was off on a different route and ended up at the Savannah around 8pm!!!
2k6 I left the band around 7ish, because we did not want to have to walk far to get back to our car but there was no afterparty. Drop them an email and let them know they could implement that for 2007! I remember one year Harts lock down in the Oval and was one big party ! LOL.
Top of the Mornin' All:
I have no problem with "pre-registration" especially since I know for a fact TRIBE does it (plain talk, bad manners!). Just as long as come next Saturday, I get my section of choice.
And I feelin' the after party idea eh, we need to have our own private las' lap. For all that extra money we paying they could afford to rent the DJ's for a few extra hours, find a spot and let us play ourselves.
Hear that TRIBE? We want an after party!!
I feel Mr. Paul Singh lying... anyone else agree?
Good evening all, just a comment on mas prices this year...can you say RIDICULOUS...last year even the all-inclusive sections/bands were not this expensive...what going on...honestly, some of us abroad are really contemplating on actually playing in 2k7 with such prices...what we go do?!?
For years now prices have been increasing every year, if yuh look at the trends.
