The downpayment for ALL Island People's regular sections is $900.00 (not sure what the cost is for frontline but since they aping TRIBE we can expect $1200.00).
You will be pleased to know that I chatted with Sonia herself and for those interested, Le Soleil Brule has 4 costumes to choose from in addition to the two frontlines:
This costume will be available with a smaller backpack (more road friendly) as well as without a backpack (costume only) and I have to say if I were playing with Island People I would go with this costume and the small backpack! For starters I am a past masquerder of Sonia so I will get in before the masses, she is having registration at her mas camp and thus I will get personal service/attention, she is a lady who allows you to fit properly for your bra and her section is FIRST!!

ah know yuh is a TRIBE fan and ah love yuh website. it really helpin to keep me up to date wit d paces for d 2007 mas, but oh gosh, yuh heh hadda lambasse the IP so......lol. If yuh find they folowin TRIBE, try and take it as a compliment, the following success....

So question for yuh: have you (or anyone for that matter) found out the prices of IP's costumes? I'm not understanding how they are saying that registration is supposed to begin this week, yet they haven't even posted (or announced) their costume prices! What's the deal with the state secret mentality? Some of us have limits to how much we are willing to pay, and it would be nice if IP considered their customers and gave us some time to review prices and consider our options.
I understand some Tribe masqueraders are complaining about waiting a month to register. But at least you guys know (and have known for a while) how much your costumes will cost. We IP masqueraders, on the other hand ...

I don't know what is going on with IP either, real top secret business. The voice recording on their mascamp answering machine said costume viewing and regsitration info will be released today, but I calling and getting the same old voice message :S
I am waiting to call again to see if I get a live person to speak to! Well I guess Sonia has prices for her section because some people are already registered for Soleil Brule.And is true what you said about the wait for TRIBE,I had budgeted for my D/P of $600.00 but when I heard it was $900.00 I was glad I could have waited until month end to register.
well allyuh that seem to think only the prettiness of the costumes should matter instead of taking customer service (or lack thereof) into consideration when choosing a band are catching yuh ass now. Seems like IP STILL have lessons to learn regarding treating their loyal masqueraders.
I have heard prices are not being posted to their website because there will be NO online registration. Such a damn shame that people always criticizing Tribe for being "selective" - looks like IP got them beat in that dept.
anon I heard about that no online registration thing but did not think it was true.. I mean IP is marketed heavily to the foreign market so I just can't see them treating their foreign based masqueraders like that ....say it ain't so !
