Carnival Nationz Launch Photos

Triniscene.com has a gallery of photos from Carnival Nationz band launch for their Caribana Presentation "Pirates".

The models' makeup is a bit distracting and bizarre in some cases, however my favorite costume is "Kacikie" pictured below:

Kacikie:
Love the browns and copper

Misty Dawn:
nondescript white costume, very generic.

Shipwreck :
for some reason I want to like it,
but not liking the bra fur.

Sextant Horizon -
I don't like this one at all!
What is up with the mask?
Bra reminds me of last year's Aerialist; despise that belt.

Captain's Morgan Wenches:
Not to sure about the feathers on the bra ,
but another decent costume

Treasure Island :
hmm blue and black, interesting combo.
Not too sure if I am liking it but I do like the bra top!

Calico Jack and his Lover Bonny:
The pink and black does not look bad together.
Love the headpiece.

Bullions and Baubles:
Another costume I like.
Interesting headpiece and bra/belt design.

Caw Caw:
Very green! Not liking that bra AT ALL with
the profusion of feathers sprouting from the breasts.
Ode to Island People's Kingfisher with the arm pieces.

I like Caw Caw but I wouldnt go for it. I like the headpiece for Kacikie but the browns dont really excite me. I like the recycling of QUIKSILVER feathers in Shipwreck, but wouldnt team them with black boots. But Bullions and Baubles is mi favourite. I am feeling the lilac and gold combination.

I pray Evolution come better and badder, or I may have to take my services elsewhere. But overall I think they're the best I have seen so far from Caribana 2K8.

I read on Caribana Virgin's blog that Caw Caw frontline is $950. CN's must be out of their frigin minds. This is caribana, not TRINIDAD CARNIVAL!

Especially after all of de foolishness that happened with Evolution. Steupse!!

yea...$950 is excessive. Especially when people are accustomed to paying around $350 for frontline costumes for Caribana. Should be interesting! But most people who have seen this rumoured price has pretty much said "Ill take a backline wid dat price!"

Saucy...I agree with you - the belt on Sextant Horizon is not nice!!!...I think if the belt was different it wouldve been a nicer costume. Belt alone is reason why I wouldn't play in that section.

At first Caw Caw really wowed me...maybe its my desire to play in a bird costume. Its still one of my top choices but Bullions and Baubles is a very close 2nd. The purple and the gold chain detail is lovely! and It sexy!

Kacikie i really like too...but I ain too excited to play in brown, so I would probably pass just based on the colour.

As for Treasure island...its different. but the BRA is GREAT! I felt a certain happiness when I saw the bra. Because some big breasted women modeled and the bras look nice and sturdy, with a nice lift but still allowing a sexy look. I know women with bigger chest always have a hard time come Caribana season, so if thats the standard bra, thats excellent!

I am offically in shipwreck frontline. And the section leader was very pleasant. This is my first time in caribana, I hope I enjoy it.

I anticipated for CN's launching! Thanx 4 the pix Sauce.

However, I find that this year reminding me of last year's own. :(

For e.g. Kacikie rell reminding me of Lion Tamer.

Misty Dawn is white cotton candy(But I love it!)

I don't like shipwreck. And I was saying something looks very familiar and it makes sense now that sum1 said it was Quicksilver.

Sextant top really reminding me of the last yr's green name. I can't believe I forget the name, you know, the tutu 1. The colour reminds me of Gypsy.

Captain's remind me of the red 1 last year as well. Was it fire something?

Treasure, why is only that picture ts can take, you can't even see the whole thing. But from what I can tell, it reminds me of S. Tigers.

I loove Calico.

The Bullions are nice. But doesn't have nuttin special about it.

Nevertheless I love the creativity that CN puts on! I hope they can use that power for Evolution. They may give TRIBE and IP a run for their money! But goodness, do they have to use 2 of that big colourful eyelashes? To me it looks wrong, not even ghetto cause they don't use it that much as weave. Ever since I'd seen Dara from Charm School wore 2 fake eyelashes, that changed my whole perspective.

I'm outee!

I was speaking to my sis who attended the launch and she said that when you see Caw Caw up close it's gorgeous and that the designer gives nothing short of perfection when it comes to her costume, and the price is $750 CDN.
