Boots! Boots! Boots!

Having selected your costume of choice some of you ladies are probably shopping around for boots so here is a listing of online stores that sell fairly inexpensive boots that can work for Carnival.

Go Jane

Urban Original

Make Me Chic

Amiclubwear

Wanted Shoes

Sheik Shoes

Barefeet Shoes

Cutesy Girl

Shoe Ocean

I bought one of my two pairs of boots from Shoe Ocean and have no complaints. The boots were very comfortable, great colour and they held up very well so I will be reusing them again as one of my boots for 2009 (Monday), however I am in search of a new pair for Tuesday!

Some tips on ordering boots online where you do not have the option to try on in person:

*Make sure that the site is secure, I prefer to use PAYPAL for online transaction with the lesser known establishments. There was no problem with me ordering at Shoe Ocean using paypal.

* Flat boots are more comfortable but if you want height, platform wedges are a good choice.

* Look for boots with round toes, instead of pointed toes, to give you wiggle room.

*Pay attention to the height of the boot shaft in the description (usually given in inches) this will give you an indication of if it hits at mid calf or under the knee.

*Rubber soles are more comfortable for jumping up in all day than hard soled boots, plus they are skid proof. I would also recommend looking at the flexibility of the sole, remember you will be dancing in these boots all day.

*I Additional insoles provide added comfort however it will require you buying the boots one size up from what you normally wear.

*Boots can be spray painted any colour, once primer is used, however using tan or white boots as a base is easier than trying to get a black pair of boots lighter.

*Boots with folds and/or wrinkles are more difficult to spray paint that a smooth booth.

* Look at the type of material the boot is made of if you are going to be spray painting it, some plastics will not absorb the paint or the paint may flake off after being sprayed.

*Suede (faux suede) boots can be spray painted, you need to use fabric spray paint to get the most desirable effect.

Remember as the fall season approaches more boots will become available, so no need to rush and buy them now though there are some pretty good cheap boots on sale.

You can also check your local Target and Payless stores for boots! If you have a website to add to this list feel free to leave a comment with your suggestion.

Saucy...how much extra do u end up paying in shipping to trinidad when u ordered your boots?

Saucy aka "The Sauce" said...

trin.chichi I did not have my boots shipped to Trinidad. The first pair was shipped to a friend in Miami and I picked them up when I visited last October and the second pair was shipped to another friend who brought them with her when she came for Carnival in January.
