Cotinga Part Deux

Since TRIBE never put up photos showing what the back of Charmeuse looks like, and it is a very popular section at the moment, much like Spangled Cotinga was last year, let me show you all what the back looks like:

Isn't it curious how TRIBE never shows the backs of the costumes that are VERY skimpy, like the 6 beads of Spangled Cotinga waist band or 2010's Mystery of Loulan,Charmeuse and Threads of Morocco?

And if you want to see JUST how skimpy Charmeuse is in action, take a look at this video of TRIBE's launch in N.Y. HERE.

You have been duly warned that all your ass is basically outside in Charmeuse as there is nothing covering your underwear. And if you take the regular small headpiece option there isn't even the illusion of fabric covering your butt as with the larger headpiece!

Now, hopefully there will be no surprised masqueraders come collection in February.

Everybody want to be in the hot section without even considering what it will look like.

So I say half of them lookin' for whatever they get yes.

Charmeuse lovers that don't mind all that availability are going to be just fine. But for those that don't care for all that free access, you can always choose a short/hot pant option.

I know it has nothing to do with this post but saucy can u find out for me in Habotai why in the video there is cloth back and front. But on tribe website there is no cloth.
Thanks again

After watching the video I have a few observations:

1) Habotai is a slept on section. Put aside the tassels and that costume is actually not as terrible as people think it is. I could see that section looking real good on the road. It's skimpy in the back too so that will be another bottom in de road section.

2) Charmeuse didn't look as scandalous as I expected it to look from watching the photo alone. The model was a little petite tho so maybe that's the reason. I guess if you have a real BANGALANG you might blind people on Tuesday lol.

3) "We Won't Stop" is still ah big, big chune even 6 months after Carnival!!! AH WANT TO WIIIIIINNNEEEE!!!! :D

I fully agree with ennekaycee, minus the tassels and habotai is a beautiful costume. as for charmeuse, i was in love with that costume from day 1, but after going to the mas camp and seeing it in person, i NOT impressed at all. maybe they put the costume in the corner with poor lighting to detract from it, but charmeuse was rather skimpy and the cloth looked very dull and the smaller headpiece looks so poor. all in all the costumes that looked about par on the website looked beautiful on display. my least favourites comin out of the mas camp was charmeuse, serica and silk of rajasthan. my top three are now habotai, xi ling shi and osage. mind u tyrian purple is much better in person and zari is gorgeous although i still hold that those a very dark complexion such as myself may not be able to carry it off.

Agreed on both, EnneKaycee!

Habotai just moved back up on my list especially now that the fabric is in the back AND the front. And she really worked the costume.

I still love Charmeuse and think the back looks okay on her. My only problem is that I think the bikinis usually end up lopsided especially after a wine. That is why I love a thong (over stockings)for the road. But, thong is a hell of a lot of exposure with a belt like that.

It seems every year costume belts are getting smaller and smaller and peopel ar getting less and less coverage on their butt. It looks like people will have to make and investment and but some cloth for the back of that costume OR before you spend your money try and talk with the costume designer and see if there is an option some 'silk' to cover your butt.

Habotai was never a bad costume, my gripe was with the chop sticks , shape of the larger headpiece (which I thinks comes too far on the face) and tassels on the belt. I love the colour and I am not a lover of pink costumes. Chop off the tassels on the belt, take the small headpiece add some diamante on the bra and for me it is a pretty cute sexy costume.

Lol @ ennceekay! We winin! Jammin!

Ahem, um yeah that thing is skimpy! And I wear a bikini on the road and with that nex thing u know, jep sting naina during a hard wine :-( just kidding, if one was in cotinga, goddess of the chase, or canary the past two yrs, this shouldn't be a huge difference... It seems a small flap or a chain or two is the only difference haha. And Habotai is gorgeous! The chopsticks are a bit much but I like the tassles. But I am still flip flopping between charmeuse and osage - osage's bra is my fav.. Sigh decisions...

Since these designers are making the costumes so skimpy, they should really try to do something with the underwear pieces people are wearing. The bikini was not to be seen, and to be on the road in a bikini that is not flattering is just not cute. Maybe they should start decorating the bikini or expanding the styles, like a tanga since they skimping on the real costume. Decorate the underwear and jack up the prices some more.

Dee how you really plan to sit on a jeweled underwear? LOL

lol@jewelled underwear!! Sounds kinda itchy!

Being as we talking about underwear and I have to make a decision soon ... does anyone know or have an opinion on how small is too small for Morocco FL bra?
I wondering if being an A cup ... the cage bra will not be flattering?

Redwhiteblack I think to pull off the Morocco FL bra you at least need to be a B cup. A (C) cup will pull it off the best though....I loved the section when I saw it but after thinking about it I thought maybe I was too small on top to pull it off...

Anonymous said...

Thanks Chick. I was thinking the same thing. B cup will be smallest. Shame really.

My bf told me that I can get a boob job and the costume will only cost £4500 in total!!!

hahahaha you are too funny redwhiteblack! Hope you get into the section of your choice..

Goodluck!
