ISLANDpeople Mas Launches ‘Kutchela’

Mail from Island People Mas:

ISLANDpeople Mas is creating quite a buzz around town with curiosity set on high alert about the upcoming launch of our c2k10 presentation ‘Kutchela’. “Ching ku-ching ching ching,” is a sound bite of what our trend-setting team here at ISLAND people Mas has in store for you on this, our fifth mas offering.

The launch of Kutchela is a celebration for our band members, supporters and party people like you, that is scheduled for Friday 21st August at 9:00 pm. The launch will see Harts-Cut Chaguaramas (a re-designed Anchorage) transformed into a crown palace called ‘The Taj’ where free drinks will flow all night long for you to enjoy.

Partnering with ISLANDpeople Mas to make our band launch possible are Bmobile, Johnny Walker, Stag, Blue Waters, Paramount Transport and Tropical Power.

Band members can purchase your specially discounted tickets to this free drinks experience at the Mas Camp, Stone Street, Port of Spain while other carnival lovers can purchase tickets at IF House (cor. Murray and Tragarete Road Woodbrook). For further info phone: 625-1FUN (1386) or 628-WISH (9474).

See you there!!!

Oh Lord, no one wants to leave a comment bout IP. Well let me be the first to do so. I believe that IP will be HOT this year. They costumes ALWAYS HOTT and they seem to be trying to make up for this year. Free drinks all night and discounts for IP members. So far, so okay! :-0

lol....everybody still vex with them. Seems like they trying to make up but they should have at least done some damage control earlier on and addressed the terrible situations experienced this year. Up to this day IP masqueraders never received a thank you letter or an apology. That’s poor especially when in 2008 they half thanked everybody while thanking their celebrity masqueraders and everyone was in an uproar. Not to mention poor customer service at the camp and collection venue this year. IP either get professional Customer Reps. or send your staff on a retreat to let them know that it is not all about them. If you're doing a job do it to the best of your ability and leave the personalities and ego (s) out of it. After all if all masqueraders have the same expectations as I, you would not have a successful carnival band. Let’s wait and see the costumes

PS. I like how they're using/stealing Big Mike’s idea of using the Anchorage and using Tsunami for the Media launch.

a couple of their costumes were shown on the guardian sunday newspaper..
i was more impressed with the male costume that the female. the female looked strikingly like a costume they had done for their band called sahara back in 97...the only difference is that this incarnation is a more intense orange than the one that was in sahara.

there was a white costume as well...it was okayish, but i suppose its best to wait until the launch to see what it looks like.
