Hope those re-registering can still get their sizes!
Dear Spice Masquerader,
Thank you for making Spice Carnival your band of choice for carnival 2010.
We regret to inform you that due to unforeseen circumstances and issues concerning our Payal partners we must refund your payment.

The process will be as follows:

You will receive a refund via paypal (August 29th, 2009) along with a phone call from a service representative at our showroom.

As soon as you receive your refund, you can simply full out this webform and the info will be sent securely and directly to us to process your payment, or you can call our showroom (between the hours of 1 pm and 8 pm, Monday to Saturday) at 1-868-222-0475 and we will process your order over the phone. No kiddin Greg! You may be have given some folks an opt out idea. Especially now that several other bands have launched. Wow, Spice may have just dug themselves a hole.

Ahm... how many 'unforeseen circumstances' and 'issues beyond their control' is Spice really dealing with this year? They are sounding SO disorganised. Had I registered with them, I was doing like Greg... And praising jah for the lucky escape!

Not very well done Team Spice...

The thing is Spice may not have any recourse against those who choose to deflect. The fact that their sections are not selling out at any rate only proves folks are not eager to go with them. So much for being first to launch. This faux pas may be really, really costly! I wish them luck!

So true Princessredz, so true. They seem so disorganized compared to last year and it just seems to be getting worse. This is their 2nd year and they should be coming better than that. I think a lot of people are going to do just as Greg said ....and it might be a good idea since rumour has it that the band may not even eventually come off in 2010 as they took a huge loss last year and their sign ups so far have been extremely slow. This spells major financial trouble. I wish them luck but their clear lack of organization does not help their cause any.

I hope their issues gets sorted quickly. Not a good look after all the hype. And they were poised to do the damn thing. They had an audience licking their chops ready to flee from big bands. I do hope they succeed.

Spice, you done fell off man! I feel really let down by them and really bad for them. Like Carnivalcocoa said, they were THIS close to snapping up those people who were getting fed up of the big bands.

But they shot themselves in the foot with their prices. As a new band, they haven't got enough credit with customers to be charging almost the same prices as TRIBE and IP. I've heard people saying it's because the costumes are full of 'bling'. Well, that was a mistake, because now the costumes are expensive to produce. They should have been aiming for 1000-2000 people for next year, building on the 800 they had this year. 3000 was a bit ambitious.

Secondly, the bra issue. In this day and age, how you could be telling people that they can't play FL because their boobs are too big? 36C? I don't consider myself to have big boobies, but I'm a 34D and am therefore not acceptable to Spice. Madness!! BUT what is even more baffling is the fact that you can't even submit your own bra to them for decoration. Why the hell not? Is it because the bras are being bought already decorated? If that's the case, then the prices they're calling look even more like greed!

Third, is this rumour going around about Ceylon Pearls. I won't repeat any of it here, but if any of this is true, then Spice needs to get back into the real world!!

What Spice SHOULD have done is undercut the major bands by at least a thousand dollars. Because if you could have gotten an FL for four grand or less, half of those people who couldn't get into TRIBE would have been upset, but thought "Well, at least Spice is cheaper. I'll take the chance." But why would they spend over 5k on a band that hasn't really had a proven track record?

And the fact that not even one section has sold out yet is bad news, especially as IP has launched and people are liking their presentation.

Spice needs to slash their prices, grovel to the people who have already registered with them and change that stupid bra policy. They also need to send that Driselle on some PR training, or hire someone else to do it. Because that answer she sent to AC was absolute bollocks!!! A true PR person knows how to bullsh*t someone so that they don't know they're being bullsh*tted. What she did was just embarassing!

C'mon Spice, PULL YOUR FINGER OUT!!!
