Spice responds to the Paypal Issue

Hope those re-registering can still get their sizes!
Dear Spice Masquerader,
Thank you for making Spice Carnival your band of choice for carnival 2010.
We regret to inform you that due to unforeseen circumstances and issues concerning our Payal partners we must refund your payment.

Please note that this does not mean that you have lost your costume or space in Spice Carnival for Carnival 2010. We have a comprehensive record of all orders placed via paypal and intend on fulfilling every one of them?..however we still need to receive your payment.

The process will be as follows:

You will receive a refund via paypal (August 29th, 2009) along with a phone call from a service representative at our showroom.

As soon as you receive your refund, you can simply full out this webform and the info will be sent securely and directly to us to process your payment, or you can call our showroom (between the hours of 1 pm and 8 pm, Monday to Saturday) at 1-868-222-0475 and we will process your order over the phone. (Please not that you may need to be logged in to SpiceCarnivalBand.com with the account you purchased with to view the webform).

We have a dedicated team, so we ensure you that you will receive same day confirmation from us stating that your payment has officially been cleared and that the process is completed.
Collect your costume at distribution which is currently scheduled to take place two weeks prior to carnival.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Team Spice

Spice's website is up!

So after a long delay the website is up, with some minor glitches, and apart from the fact that it is somewhat laborious to get to the section/costume you want to view by clicking so many options (click Catalog...click Sections..click Caspian Sea.. Click Male or Female or Frontline...) I think it HILARIOUS that none of the frontline costumes offer bra sizes past 32D. The backline costumes however go up to 38DDD and 40DD.

I think the website is cool, loved the intro, just wished it was a bit user friendly, at least they have back shots of all the costumes!

Spice Registration Begins Today

Coming three weeks after their band launch, Spice mas camp opens today for registration of past masqueraders from 12 noon to 8Pm. The new mas camp is located on the corner of Robert and Rosalino Streets. Check out Afro Chic's blog for a photo of the location with the boat out front.

The website is also due to go live today, truth be told I was expecting the website to be up and running already to give potential masqueraders a preview of costumes AND prices, especially since the down payment information has not been made available. As far as I know the down payment is $1500.00TT on frontline costumes and $1000.00TT on regular costumes.

And when it comes to prices seems like people's call for lower prices was heeded, expect an adjustment of the prices by approximately $50.00US less than the prices I published last week, I am guessing costumes will start at around $3200.00TT, of course wait for the "official" prices from the mas camp/website for confirmation.

Look out for post Spice Mas Camp visit photos later day, hopefully with some very good close up shots for you guys.

About those Spice Prices

So, the price preview of Spice generated lots of feedback from potential masqueraders and I hope that the band is taking note as the mas camp and website is due to open to the public on Monday with prices.

I have been informed that the prices published on the blog are not the final prices, that SOME are correct (mostly the frontline) while others are not. We shall see on Monday how close they are to the actual/final price or not.

In any event you masqueraders have been quite vociferous in your opposition to the higher costume prices when it comes to Spice, though to tell you the truth I am still quite amused that Isis is priced cheaper than Threads of Morocco, when the former costume has a much bigger headpiece and is dripping with diamante! The entire bra of Isis is embellished with crystals!

Also apart from some of the frontlines, I personally think the prices are fair with ALL those feathers, jewels and diamante. Caspian Sea has a lot of detailed diamante work as well as feathers and it is priced less than Spangled Cotinga! The way pricing seems to be going frontliners are getting more bang for their buck when it comes to costume!

Anyway, I await the OFFICIAL prices Spice on Monday, followed by TRIBE on Tuesday...isn't it cute how the bands are playing a game of "you go first?" Very interesting!

Spice Registration Update

Hey SPICE Crew!!

It’s that time again!!

Band launch is over and you guys have seen all of our costumes for carnival 2010.

We are currently in the process of putting the final touches on the showroom…….you guys know that we have to have it SPICY for when you get here.

We want all of you guys to know how much we appreciate the support that you have given us last year and that you continue to give us for our 2010 presentation “THE SPICE ROUTE…”

I know that everyone was looking forward to registration beginning on the 3rd of August , but due to some factors that are way beyond our control we have been forced to postpone it to the 10th of August instead. This delay however, is to ensure that we maintain the quality service that has become synonymous with Spice Carnival Band.

Please don’t be angry with us, we are more disappointed than you guys!! :(

So here’s the official schedule:
Monday 10th August 12-8 pm (Spice 2009 masquerader registration)

Tuesday 11th August 12-8 pm (Spice 2009 masquerader registration)

Wednesday 12th August and onward- Open to the public (Monday to Saturday 12-8pm)

Thank you once again for your understanding and we do apologize for any inconvenience caused.
