You know I am all about the boots for Carnival, particularly since the majority of masqueraders who choose the other option, sneakers, barely put the effort in finding ones that at least match their costume. Sneakers would be really cool too if everyone chose to customize them to match the costume, like
Afro Chic does, but not all masqueraders go the extra mile when it comes to accessorising; everyone is different I suppose!
These sneakers from
Old Navy come in five super bright colours that are perfect for Carnival, personally I would add some gemstones and maybe change out the laces but I am loving the colours, especially for the Island People section
Morgandani where I think sneakers would work well with this costume:
The other colours the sneakers come in, great for Monday as well if you do not want to do boots both days:

I saw these in Old Navy yesterday and also thought they would be great for Monday in lieu wearing boots. But I stepped it up this year and bought boots for Monday and Tuesday. Oh well....
Damn Saucy! Why yuh giving away mih sources??!! LOL
I bought a black pair a couple of weeks ago to wear for j'Ouvert, and I was considering getting the pink ones as a back-up for my boots.
They're comfortable, but not something I would consider for 2 full days on the road, as I need more support and cushioning than these provide. Gel insoles would probably be a good idea if you plan to be jumping in these all day.
Vans sneakers work wonders too!
Love it! I always like colored sneakers, especially for Monday.
Here's a cute pair of Puma's from Piperlime.com...perfect for any hot pink costume with hints of yellow or gold (ie. Jaipur in IP, Threads of Morocco in Tribe)

Anyone brave to wear these Creative Recreation's for Tribe's Habotai Carnival Monday?

Don't forget Chuck's, they always have fun and colorful designs!
Mary-Jane sneaker styles are cute also, feminine with a peek of skin, but still sneakers. Good for women who can't fathom the thought of wearing socks with sneakers to play mas.
