You Don't Say!

Which dynamic design duo is allegedly taking a sabbatical from Trinidad Carnival for the next year?

If this turns out to be true I am VERY curious to see how certain bands will fare for the Trinidad Carnival 2011 band launch season, because their touch was seen in MANY bands, including TRIBE (headpieces, frontline tails, collars) and they were also responsible for complete designs for Spice; all but one section!

Interesting news indeed coming on the heels on the fact that  sources have told me Spice seems to have  been dubbed  "new TRIBE" and were all but patting themselves on their back for the job well done this Carnival season. Not to mention that this design duo were looking forward to fabulous designs for the Savage Amazon/Amazoni Savage (sounds like warriors eh?) theme that Spice is working on .Who is going to design the band now? Why are these designers now on hiatus? It seems way too curious for me NOT to be suspicious of these latest developments!

One thing I know, I surely cannot wait for band launch season to see what is in store, counting down to July!

Wait what is this I am hearing that Spice is the new Tribe. Excuse me I don't think so. Spice screwed up in all areas on the customers services, management, food distribution, security, on the road experience. Now they are patting themselves on the back for a good job well done. They are patting themselves on the back because they took our money and gives us poorly made costumes and they made a profit.
Is Spice team living in a cave somewhere

Say it ain't to so. They were the ONLY reason I was going to try Spice again next year. And I was trying to be in the section they were in as well since the Greece section this year didn't seem to have any issues.

If they aint there I am definitly not playing Spice. Back to IP. IP gonna be rel ram next year I think. Back to sitting my the PC when international registration starts.

Not even on Spice best day they could emulate TRIBE's standards, as Elsa quite rightly put it "Excuse me I don't think so"

Why is it that EVERYONE who read this post know who these two are EXCEPT ME? Does it show that I just pick a costume and just play mas in it? Is that bad? Should I pay more attention to WHO designs my costumes?

dcarnivalbaby don't feel bad. I have no clue who designs my costumes either. I just choose what's suitable for me and pay my money. As far as Spice being the new Tribe, I don't think so, not with all those reviews of heard and people not getting their costumes!

dcarnivalbaby , you and me both. I never really know who designed my costume until I started reading this blog.
And Bachanalmas, I thought the same thing -- Tribes redux.

I have a feeling there will be more shake ups among designers coming. Can you say section line-up squabble? Hmmmm.....

Bacchanalmas, I cosign.

I am a bit disappointed with "Warriors". You know you will see the usual aztec, inca, maya, some indian warrior- so utterly predictable and boring.

Why not something like Caribbean fruit bowl... I would love to see a pineapple interpretation :). It looks like any excuse now for feathers. Or maybe something contemporary like the Moulin Rouge. Or even a film- Alice in Wonderland or something like that. Or what about a Pirates or something theme. Make we feel as if some thought went into it nah.

Bachanalmas TRIBE's 2005 theme was "Tribal Fantasy".

City Chick I think Osage looked very much like a pineapple lol, check out the details on the costume!

Hmmmm...well...we shall see....when I played with them in 05 (Tribal Fantasy) My costume was 2000 or somewhere around there...definitely not more...I cant wait to see the stark difference in price for these "warrior" costumes...

FRUIT BOWL...????? Hello this is carnival Not a Gay Pride Parade.....

(is a joke doh take it serious eh allyuh)...

CityChick said...

Ah ent taking it serious its just using imagination... ah could imagine ah abstract strawberry with nice green plumes set out on a red n yellow fiery costume. Nah we ent talking about gay pride either. Not literally.

Saucy its true re pineapple, the little square shaped bits!!!!

But for real, they need to come better than that. Cant wait for the star trek theme from island people. I think sonia mack will do a wicked silver or alien blue with that... lol....
