So, rumour has it that a very POPULAR section leader with an equally POPULAR band has been banned from working with a particular new band set to make it's debut. Word is that this new band is being considered direct competition and the POPULAR section leader was threatened with having their section taken away if they continued working with this other band. I wonder if this extends to the other bands that this POPULAR section leader designs for as well?
In other costume news I am hearing that masqueraders can expect to see LESS feathers next year and more costumes sticking true to theme as well a very POPULAR band will be offering Monday wear for the first time ever to their masqueraders, I was told. We will see if THAT turns out to be true.
Bands are still in the process of revamping costumes even while others are now looking for materials on credit. And masqueraders will have to hold out until JUNE to get even a hint of what the themes for the bands are, competition is fierce. Everyone is playing the game holding their cards close to the chest this band launching season!

So the clue is in the word popular?
SHhh!
LMAO @ Mjsbunny!!!! Your clue was so cute!!! LOLOL...my thing is she's designed for other bands in the same year and her costumes never look the same...she always, IMO, gives the POPULAR band the best and she's been working on the other band's costume since earlier this year so they had to know....so all of a sudden it's a problem???? Hmmmmmmm....sounds like more than mortar in the pestle...like this other band must be looking real good..
I had been very interested in seeing what they were bringing as an alternative to the POPULAR band and this makes me even more curious...let the games begin!!! LOL
Oh one more thing.....the POPULAR band is not the be all and end all of carnival...*smh* With her popularity and beautiful and sexy designs as well as her attention to details, her sections will still SELL OFF no matter where she is..in fact she and her other designer friends should start their own band...real talk.
HAHAHA - "looking for materials on credit" - I gone with that one.... Saucy - dey tink yuh easy to deal wid?
Hmmn what's this - guess what my word verification for my post was just now - "tribe"... seriously!
I, just like every other time. Am lost. SMDH.
Finally, I thought my Carnival bug was dead! De drama unfolds. Keep up de spirit Saucy!
Oh no well that dashed my plans to play with "Sugar". I was looking for a HOT costume from Ms. H. (did I guess right ?) Hopefully she designs something with IP this year. Richard and Anthony are very talented as well. I'll wait to see prototypes.
The name of that band isn't sugar.
@Carnival Divaz, I know the name has changed from "Sugar" (since I first heard that was the name) hence the reason I refer to the band as "the band rumoured to be called Sugar", and I believe that is why Trini Princesssa also has the name in quotations. :)
I cannot remember the blasted name for nothing, I was so busy with the people involved with this band yhan the name of the band. The band has some good people involved.
Yup, band leader was formerly involved with Island People, Stefan Monteil. Designers Richard and Anthony, Crystal Amming and Wayne Berkley are part of a "creative team". Sandra Hordatt was also involved but... no more. And I also believe Jason Alcantara has a part to play somewhere .And I also heard some of Island People's committee have joined the new band like Tanya Gomes and Jade.
Yep Saucy's got it right. I'm actually excited to see what all bands are coming with next year. Especially since their have been no "accidental" leaks.
